Vietnam Highlights Early Warning Signs of Neuroimmune Disorders

The TV program “Bác sĩ ơi!” produced by Báo Thanh Niên featured TS‑BS Nguyễn Bá Thắng, head of neurology, and Dr. Đinh Huỳnh Tố Hương, a neurology specialist, to explain autoimmune neurological diseases. They focused on multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), describing early symptoms such as unilateral vision loss, limb weakness, numbness, balance problems, and transient dizziness that are often mistaken for other conditions. The experts emphasized that early detection during the “golden period” allows modern treatments to slow disease progression, reduce relapses, and improve quality of life.

The program was organized by the University Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City and sponsored by Merck Healthcare Vietnam and AstraZeneca Vietnam, aiming to raise public awareness and encourage timely medical consultation.
