Vietnam holds consultations on religious freedom and green energy policies
Vietnam is conducting social criticism and consultative meetings to refine legal frameworks regarding religious freedom and green energy transitions.
In a meeting led by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, experts and religious representatives discussed the drafting of a Decree to guide the implementation of the 2016 Law on Belief and Religion. The discussions focused on ensuring the constitutionality, legality, and transparency of the draft to guarantee religious freedoms and facilitate stable religious activities.
Separately, the Ministry of Construction held a consultation regarding the green energy transition in the transport sector. The Hanoi Department of Construction proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade research and issue preferential electricity pricing specifically for green vehicle charging stations. This proposal aims to resolve infrastructure bottlenecks for electric vehicle adoption. Other recommendations included tax incentives for electric vehicle purchases, regulations for battery recycling, and enhanced fire safety standards for charging stations.
