Vietnam holds first meeting of Central Steering Committee on Foreign Affairs
The Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Integration held its first meeting in Hanoi on October 26. The session was chaired by General Secretary and President To Lam.
During the meeting, President To Lam emphasized that foreign affairs and international integration are “vital and regular” tasks that must involve the entire political system, including defense and security sectors. He noted that in a rapidly changing global environment, foreign policy must provide proactive and accurate advice to support national growth models and competitiveness toward the 2030 and 2045 goals.
The committee aims to resolve difficult, interdisciplinary issues and navigate complex challenges without duplicating the existing functions of various ministries and agencies. The meeting included high-ranking officials such as National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Standing Deputy Secretary Tran Cam Tu.
