Vietnam hosts ‘Connecting Love’ program to support women and children
The Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Women's Union organized the ‘Kết nối yêu thương’ (Connecting Love) program on the evening of October 5, 2026. The event aimed to mobilize community resources to support women and children facing extreme difficulties and critical illnesses.
National statistics indicate that over 30,000 women and children living in poor or near-poor households are suffering from serious illnesses and require urgent assistance. The program also seeks to move toward the establishment of a specialized hospital for treating children with critical illnesses.
High-ranking officials attended the event, including National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn, Minister of Public Security Lương Tam Quang, and President of the Vietnam Women's Union Lê Thị Thủy. The initiative was held to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and Vietnamese Women's Day.
