Vietnam hosts D‑Joy Pickleball Tour Leg 2, drawing 800 athletes from 20 nations
From 17 to 21 June 2026, Vietnam staged the BIDV Cup 2026 | D‑Joy Pickleball Tour – Leg 2 at the D‑Joy Pickleball Nam Saigon complex. The five‑day tournament comprised nearly 2,000 matches, 1,530 registrations and attracted more than 800 players representing over 20 countries.
The event highlighted Vietnam’s capability to run a world‑class pickleball competition, featuring professional‑level organization, strict USAPA testing and the first‑ever full‑court digital VAR system powered by artificial intelligence. The AI‑VAR provided real‑time, transparent analysis of disputed calls, a technology not yet employed by the sport’s major tours.
Top performers included Phúc Huỳnh, who captured the men’s singles title; Roos Van Reek of the Netherlands, who secured three championships in women’s singles, mixed doubles and women’s doubles; and the pair Quang Dương and Harsh Mehta, who won men’s doubles. The tournament was sponsored by BIDV as the naming partner alongside a range of other brands such as TTC Group, Vietnam Airlines, Coca‑Cola and the International Hospital of South Saigon.
