Vietnam hosts national swimming championship and community sports events

The National Club Swimming and Diving Championship 2026 has opened in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Organized by the Vietnam Water Sports Association in collaboration with the local Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the five-day event features nearly 300 athletes from 16 clubs across the country. Competitors are divided into four age groups, ranging from under 11 to 18 years old, participating in various disciplines including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, medley, and fin swimming.

Separately, the Vietnamese community in Russia participated in the 2026 Moscow International Corporate Sports Games at the Medvedkovo Stadium. The Vietnamese delegation, represented by teams such as the Solidarity team (FC Anh Em Moscow), competed in various sports including football, tennis, badminton, and table tennis. According to Tran Phu Thuan, Vice President and General Secretary of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in Russia, these events serve as a platform to promote the image of Vietnam to the international community and foster integration within Russian society.
