Vietnam implements digital village models to expand public service access

Local authorities in Vietnam are implementing digital transformation initiatives to improve access to public services and market connectivity for rural residents. In Van Chan, the “Digital Village” model is being piloted in the Hong Son and Hoa Ban communes. This program focuses on teaching digital skills to residents, such as using smartphones to access the “Digital Resident” application, utilizing VNeID, and performing online administrative procedures.

Other regions are also advancing digital integration. Tan Lac has launched the “Tan Lac Digital Assistant Utility” to help citizens navigate digital services more effectively. Across various communes, including Long Coc and Muong Thang, officials and youth volunteers are providing hands-on support, including QR code instruction and automated numbering systems, to ensure residents can transition from traditional paperwork to electronic administrative environments.
