Vietnam implements new policy for overseas Vietnamese community

Vietnam has introduced a new policy approach toward its overseas Vietnamese (OV) community through Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW. The resolution identifies overseas Vietnamese as a strategic resource for national development, shifting the focus from merely supporting the community to actively engaging them and tapping into their diverse resources.

Truong Thi Hong, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association in Israel, noted that the more than 6.5 million Vietnamese living abroad possess significant expertise in technology, management, and international networks. In Israel, the community aims to act as a bridge for knowledge exchange and technology transfer, particularly in fields such as high-tech agriculture and innovation.

The new orientation emphasizes national solidarity and creating mechanisms for constructive dialogue to leverage the contributions of the diaspora for the country's growth.
