Vietnam implements water protection and electrical safety measures

Authorities in Vietnam are implementing measures to manage water resources and ensure public safety amid changing environmental conditions. In Phu Tho province, the Provincial People's Committee has approved a sanitary protection zone for the water intake areas of the Bo Phai and Bo Trai Da River water plants. Operated by the Hoa Binh Clean Water Joint Stock Company, these facilities extract 35,000 cubic meters of water per day from the Hoa Binh Lake. The approved protection zone covers approximately 3.2 square kilometers upstream of the intake point to prevent pollution from oil spills, illegal waste disposal, or hazardous cargo.

Simultaneously, EVNHANOI has taken proactive steps to ensure electrical safety following rising river levels in the Trung Gia and Da Phuc communes. Due to rising waters in the Cau River, the electricity provider temporarily suspended service to 193 customers to prevent accidents. Utility workers have been patrolling flooded areas by boat to inspect the electrical grid and ensure stable power supply to critical infrastructure, such as hospitals and drainage pumping stations, while advising residents to exercise caution during heavy rain and flooding.
