Vietnam increases social assistance standards for vulnerable groups

The Vietnamese government has issued Decree 335/2026/ND-CP to increase social assistance standards for vulnerable groups. Effective July 1, 2026, the standard monthly social assistance level will rise from 500,000 VND to 540,000 VND.

Monthly benefits are calculated by multiplying this new standard by specific coefficients assigned to different categories. For example, the highest monthly benefit is 1.62 million VND, designated for elderly individuals in poor households who lack caregivers and meet specific community living conditions. Other adjustments include benefits for elderly people in poor households without caregivers, children under four years old, and persons with disabilities.
