VNeID app expands digital document integration in Vietnam
The VNeID electronic identification application in Vietnam is expanding its digital services, allowing users to integrate various personal documents. Users with level 2 electronic identification accounts can now integrate health insurance cards, enabling them to present digital versions for medical examinations and treatments instead of physical cards.
Additionally, the application now supports the integration of land use certificates (red and pink books). This feature relies on cleaned and standardized land databases connected to the national population database. Once synchronized, digital land certificates can be used to replace physical documents in administrative procedures.
New regulations effective September 28 introduce automatic account locking mechanisms. Accounts may be locked if the electronic identity status changes or if the mobile phone number used for registration is no longer registered under the user's actual name. These measures aim to ensure the accuracy and security of digital identity information.
