Vietnam intensifies international trade and investment efforts
Vietnam is actively pursuing diverse international economic and trade initiatives. At the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, representatives from various Vietnamese provinces, including Bac Ninh and An Giang, are showcasing local products and seeking regional partnerships. An Giang Province specifically signed 12 memorandums of understanding with Chinese entities, totaling nearly $40 million in projected cooperation across trade and tourism.
On the diplomatic and investment front, Vietnamese President To Lam visited Pfizer in New York during his trip to the 81st UN General Assembly to hold working talks. Additionally, the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the State Bank of Vietnam, conducted a Non-Deal Roadshow in the United States to engage international investors.
Other significant developments include Vietnam exploring high-speed rail technology transfers with Germany, increased interest from Russian investors in the Vietnamese commercial real estate market, and a surge in trade between Vietnam and China's Shandong province, which reached $10.3 billion in the first seven months of 2026.
