Vietnam introduces fee waivers for online administrative procedures via VNeID

From 15 August 2026 until 28 February 2027, Vietnamese citizens who upload five basic documents to the national digital‑identification app VNeID will receive exemptions or significant reductions on administrative fees for online services. The measures, set out in Government Resolution No. 66/2026/NQ‑CP on developing the digital citizen, give users free vehicle‑registration fees, free ID‑card renewal fees, a 10 % reduction on land‑registration taxes and up to 50 % (or 100 % for motorcycles) reductions on vehicle‑related fees. The resolution also grants citizens the right to manage their personal data and introduces financial incentives to encourage digital‑government uptake.

The policy aims to accelerate Vietnam’s digital transformation by expanding the VNeID platform, simplifying procedures and lowering costs for citizens who adopt the online system.
