Vietnam issues new decrees on nuclear power resettlement and real estate penalties

The Vietnamese government has issued several new decrees and resolutions aimed at regulating various economic sectors and providing social support.

Regarding nuclear energy, Resolution 66/2026/NQ-CP establishes policies to ensure livelihoods, stability, and resettlement for land users affected by nuclear power projects. This specifically applies to Khanh Hoa province and individuals in Ninh Thuan province whose land is being recovered for the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project, including those with land of encroached origin who may not qualify for standard compensation.

In the real estate sector, Decree 339/2026/NĐ-CP introduces strict penalties for brokerage violations. Individuals practicing without a professional certificate or working outside of registered brokerage firms face fines of 40 to 60 million VND. Real estate businesses providing inaccurate or incomplete information can be fined between 120 and 160 million VND.

Other regulatory updates include Decree 342/2026/NĐ-CP, which details commercial activities and business license conditions for foreign-invested economic organizations, and Decree 343/2026/NĐ-CP, which establishes procedures for handling information conflicts in cyberspace under the Ministry of National Defense's jurisdiction. Additionally, new tax regulations specify that tax evasion penalties can range from one to three times the amount of tax evaded.
