Vietnam implements new plans for infrastructure and petroleum law

The Vietnamese government has issued several key plans to advance national development through legislative implementation and infrastructure modernization.

Under Decision 1852/QĐ-TTg, the government is implementing the 2026 Petroleum Law, which aims to resolve industry bottlenecks by decentralizing authority and creating legal frameworks for high-tech services and carbon capture and storage (CCS). The law is set to take effect on March 1, 2027.

Additionally, Decision 1856/QĐ-TTg outlines a plan to develop synchronized infrastructure based on conclusions from General Secretary and President Tô Lâm. This strategy emphasizes integrating physical, digital, and natural infrastructure while ensuring projects are backed by adequate planning, land, and capital.

Other initiatives include accelerating digital transformation in traffic safety through a new data center and management project for the 2026-2030 period, and managing carbon footprints to support sustainable development and greenhouse gas emission inventories across industrial sectors.
