Vietnam Communist Party issues new regulations on business and discipline

The Communist Party of Vietnam held a national conference to implement resolutions from the 4th Plenum of the 14th Central Committee. General Secretary and President To Lam presided over the sessions, which focused on strengthening Party building, leadership methods, and cadre development for a new era.

Key regulatory updates include Regulation 224-QD/TW, which shifts the approach toward Party members in business from merely 'allowing' to 'encouraging and creating conditions' for legal wealth accumulation. This aims to increase the participation of the 5.6 million Party members in the private sector, which currently stands at 3.31%. The regulation emphasizes controlling conflicts of interest and prohibits public sector members from using state assets for personal gain.

Additionally, Regulation 225-QD/TW introduces comprehensive rules for Party inspection, supervision, and discipline. This includes granting inspection committees the authority to connect to state databases, such as banking, securities, and land registries, to prevent and address violations early. The conference also addressed Conclusion 105-KL/TW, regarding the attraction and utilization of talent in key strategic sectors to drive sustainable national development.
