Vietnam Journalists Association hosts seminar on Press Law and digital risks

The Vietnam Journalists Association's Press Training Center hosted a seminar in Hai Phong on August 24 to discuss the new provisions of the Press Law and legal sanctions. The event focused on identifying risks and protecting professional ethics in the digital age.

Participants discussed the upcoming Press Law 2025, which aims to expand the development space for journalism in the digital era, strengthen support mechanisms for the press economy, and enhance legal responsibility and state management. Key topics included the legal responsibilities of news agency heads, copyright protection, and the legal mechanisms available to protect journalists performing their duties correctly.

Experts highlighted the increasing risks associated with digital media, social networks, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Discussions emphasized that journalists must navigate challenges regarding unverified sources, privacy, honor, and personal data. The seminar also addressed the requirement for news agencies to maintain consistent identification when operating content channels on social media and digital platforms.
