Vietnam labor unions announce Tet 2027 support plans
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has released Plan 56/KH-TLĐ to support workers during the 2027 Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. The initiative focuses on vulnerable groups, including low-income earners, those in hazardous occupations, workers in remote areas, and those affected by natural disasters.
Under the plan, high-level delegations from the Party and State, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, will provide support packages valued at 2.5 million VND per person, consisting of 2 million VND in cash and 500,000 VND in physical gifts. Other support tiers include 1.5 million VND per person for visits by various government leaders and ministries.
At the local level, provincial labor federations and corporations are encouraged to mobilize social resources. Spending from union finances is capped at 1.35 million VND per person, with a preference for direct bank transfers. Additionally, the Confederation aims to provide thousands of free train tickets and requires businesses to disclose wages and Tet bonuses at least 20 days before the holiday break.
