Vietnam's top party leaders outline anti‑corruption and digital culture strategy

At a central committee meeting on 13 July, Lê Minh Trí, head of the Central Committee’s Internal Affairs, urged officials to reduce direct contact with citizens, increase transparency and strengthen oversight to prevent petty corruption and waste. He called for regular inspections, rapid handling of complaints, and the use of digital tools to improve public service and curb inefficiencies at the grassroots level.

In the same session, President and General Secretary Tô Lâm highlighted the need to build cultural sovereignty in the digital space. He identified gaps in the attractiveness of Vietnamese cultural values online, the digitisation of heritage, and the capacity to create competitive cultural products. He directed the Party‑state to develop a national digital cultural platform, mobilise resources, and foster an ecosystem that turns cultural assets into knowledge, intellectual property and economic growth. The goal is a healthy digital cultural environment by 2030.

The meeting also announced a plan for Vietnamese Culture Day on 24 November, aiming to promote cultural participation, support the creative industry and turn culture into a source of sustainable development.
