Vietnam launches 500-day campaign to recover war martyrs' remains

Authorities in Vietnam have intensified efforts under the ‘500-day campaign’ to search for, collect, and identify the remains of war martyrs. In Khanh Hoa, military forces are conducting arduous treks through dense forests and steep terrain to locate historical revolutionary bases and potential burial sites.

The campaign relies on a combination of professional surveying and historical clues provided by witnesses, veterans, and families. For instance, the diaries of the late General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, which detail the 1968 battles in the Tri Thien - Hue region, are being used to aid the search.

Volunteers and veterans continue to support the mission, including medical personnel assisting in the identification process and family members providing any available clues to help bring fallen soldiers home.
