Vietnam launches arts competition honoring war invalids and martyrs
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a literary and artistic creation competition dedicated to the theme of war invalids, martyrs, and those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution. This initiative is organized in anticipation of the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which will be observed on July 27, 2027.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that the activity aims to spread the tradition of “remembering the source,” honoring those who sacrificed for national independence and freedom. The competition occurs alongside a national 500-day campaign focused on searching for, collecting, and identifying the remains of martyrs.
The organizers hope the resulting works will not only recreate historical struggles and heroic sacrifices but also portray the lives of ordinary individuals, families facing loss, and war invalids overcoming hardships. The goal is to use literature and art to preserve historical memory and educate future generations on patriotism.
