Hanoi launches iHanoi tax filing feature for small businesses

On 27 July 2026, Hanoi's Department of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the Tax Department to integrate business‑tax data into the iHanoi citizen‑service app. The upgrade will let small enterprises and individual traders access personalized tax forms, submit filings and receive results online, reducing paperwork and travel. The rollout is planned in two phases: API connectivity for information lookup within a month, followed by full electronic filing capability within the next three months.

The Finance Ministry has also adjusted tax thresholds, raising the revenue limit for exemption from VAT and personal income tax to VND 1 billion per year. About 80 % of small businesses now fall below this level and will only need to report annual revenue once. Electronic filing compliance reached 99.6 % in the first half of the year, and the ministry says all tax procedures are now available online through the national service portal.
