Vietnam launches National Information System for Science and Technology

The Ministry of Science and Technology has officially launched the National Information System for Science, Technology, and Innovation. Operated by the Department of Information and Statistics, the platform is accessible at https://sti.gov.vn and serves as a national digital platform in accordance with Decision No. 1132/QD-TTg.

The system is designed to connect, integrate, manage, and share data regarding scientific activities, intellectual property, standards, measurement, quality, high technology, and innovative startups. It provides a statistical database featuring 137 industry-specific indicators and 17 national indicators within the science and technology sector.

Key features include multi-dimensional linking between data on scientific organizations, researchers, and scientific publications. The system also calculates quality indices for Vietnamese scientific journals and articles. It is integrated with the National Data Center, supports single sign-on via VNeID, and is prepared for real-time data sharing with the national population database to support evidence-based policy making.
