Vietnam launches national real‑estate identifier system to boost market transparency

From 1 July, Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction will operate a nationwide real‑estate information system assigning a unique identification code to every property. The system, unveiled at the Real‑Estate Brokerage Day 2026 in Cần Thơ, aims to track assets throughout their lifecycle, improve legal transparency, and curb speculative price inflation.

Deputy Director Hoàng Thu Hằng explained the code functions like a “personal name” for each property, allowing authorities to monitor legal status and transaction history. Officials said the platform will provide comprehensive data on legal records, transaction trends and price levels, helping buyers, developers and investors make informed decisions. Analysts noted the move signals a shift from speculative trading toward demand‑driven development, supported by infrastructure investments and regulatory reforms.

The initiative is expected to strengthen market confidence, protect consumer rights and support sustainable growth of Vietnam’s housing sector.
