Vietnam launches crackdown on high‑tech human‑trafficking networks

The Vietnamese government has opened a nationwide campaign to combat criminal groups that use advanced technology for fraud and human‑trafficking. The plan, running from 1 July to 30 September 2026, mobilises ministries, local authorities and the public to raise awareness of online recruitment scams, rescue victims and prosecute offenders. Key measures include diversified media outreach, collaboration with social‑media influencers, development of local anti‑trafficking models, and the promotion of emergency hotlines (111 and 113) and a reporting feature on the VNelD app. Authorities urge citizens to report suspicious recruitment invitations and to support victims throughout the rescue and legal process. The initiative aligns with the UN’s World Day to End Human Trafficking and Vietnam’s broader anti‑trafficking strategy for 2026‑2030, aiming to strengthen prevention, detection and victim protection.
