Vietnam launches nationwide vitamin A supplement campaign for children
The National Institute of Nutrition, Ministry of Health, will distribute roughly 3 million 200,000‑IU vitamin A capsules to provinces across Vietnam beginning in June 2026. The first‑phase campaign targets children aged 6 to under 60 months, aiming to protect their health amid an early and intensified heat‑wave season linked to the El Niño phenomenon.
The initiative is part of broader public‑health measures to guard against heat‑related risks such as heat‑stroke, respiratory and cardiovascular stress, and to support the government’s policy of providing free periodic health checks for the population.
