Vietnam launches stroke prevention and screening initiatives
In observance of World Stroke Day on October 29, various organizations in Vietnam have launched coordinated activities to promote stroke prevention and early detection. The initiatives include health screenings, medical consultations, and communication programs aimed at raising public awareness.
Key participants include the Preventive Medicine Department of the Ministry of Health, Bach Mai Hospital, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, FPT Long Chau, and Bayer Vietnam. These efforts are part of the program “Strengthening prevention, early detection, and management of stroke risk in Vietnam” for the 2026–2030 period.
In Ha Tinh, screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, lipids, and carotid artery ultrasounds were provided to over 1,000 residents. Nationwide, the program has conducted nine screening sessions across eight provinces, benefiting more than 12,000 people. These activities emphasize the importance of rapid medical response, noting that early intervention significantly improves survival and recovery rates.
