Vietnam leadership emphasizes practical policy implementation

During a national conference on implementing resolutions from the Politburo, General Secretary and President Tô Lâm emphasized that the value of official documents must be demonstrated through their ability to solve practical problems and create tangible changes felt by the people.

Associate Professor Bùi Hoài Sơn, a member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs, noted that this message signals a shift in leadership and governance. He argued that the focus is moving from merely issuing guidelines and plans to prioritizing organizational implementation capacity and final results.

To foster a culture of implementation, Sơn suggested that the evaluation of officials must change. He warned that if safety, following procedures, and avoiding conflict are still viewed as primary strengths, it will be difficult to develop a pioneering workforce. The goal is to ensure resolutions move beyond text to become concrete changes in the administrative apparatus, the business environment, and daily life.
