Vietnam leadership emphasizes protecting proactive officials and addressing inaction
Vietnam's top leadership is emphasizing a shift toward protecting proactive officials while strictly addressing those who avoid responsibility. During a national conference on September 3, officials discussed the implementation of Politburo Resolution 24 and Directive 07, focusing on fostering a spirit of innovation and accountability among cadres and party members.
Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Head of the Central Organization Commission, stated that the focus must expand from merely checking what officials do wrong to questioning why those within their authority fail to act. He noted that while many officials demonstrate courage and dedication, a segment remains hesitant, avoids risks, or shifts responsibility due to fear of errors or legal ambiguities. Resolution 24 aims to establish proactive action and responsibility as the standard for officials in the new era.
Trinh Van Quyet, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, added that practicing Ho Chi Minh's ideology must be directly linked to encouraging officials to think and act for the common good. He emphasized that learning is ineffective if officials remain indecisive. The leadership intends to replace those who evade duties with those who demonstrate leadership and a willingness to take responsibility for the country's development.
