Vietnam Livestreamer Trần Thị Lý Charged with Pornographic Content Distribution

Vietnamese resident Trần Thị Lý, born in 1999 and living in Lam Đồng Province, was prosecuted for operating livestream sessions that broadcast pornographic material to viewers in China. Police in Cao Bằng Province determined that she used foreign mobile apps to host four‑hour streams that attracted more than 20,000 views each, earning commissions of 1‑4 million VND per session.

The investigation, which began after a March 17, 2026 incident in Cao Bằng and Thái Nguyên provinces, identified her collaboration with an associate identified as T.T.D., who supplied room codes and purchased livestream slots. After T.T.D. was arrested, Lý fled back to Lam Đồng to evade detection. On 14 July 2026, the Cao Bằng Provincial Criminal Police issued a decision to formally charge Lý with “transmission of pornographic cultural products,” and the case remains under further investigation.
