Vietnam local authorities prioritize urban and rural development
Local authorities in Vietnam are focusing on urban maintenance and rural development following recent administrative restructuring. In Phu Tho province, the provincial People's Committee has directed a review of public utility management to ensure street cleanliness, greenery, and stable lighting. The Phu Tho Land Development Center has managed the maintenance of over 106,000 square meters of main streets and 31km of medians, collecting over 7,000 tons of waste in the past eight months.
In Dong Khoi commune, which was formed by merging Dinh Thuy, Phuoc Hiep, and Binh Khanh, efforts are underway to achieve new rural area status by 2028. The region has transitioned from rice production to organic coconut cultivation. The Dinh Thuy Agricultural Cooperative currently manages approximately 720 hectares of organic coconut, providing stable employment and higher-than-market purchase prices for its 150 members through established enterprise contracts.
