Vietnam Man's Liver Cancer Linked to Breakfast Choices

A 52‑year‑old retired man, identified as Trương, has been diagnosed with primary liver cancer after a routine health check revealed a liver nodule. Trương, who stopped smoking and drinking, had for over two years prepared his own breakfast at home, believing it to be safer than street food. He regularly ate steamed buns, sweet potatoes or corn that he kept for three to four days, sometimes consuming portions that had begun to mold.

Doctors treating him said the cancer may be related to the harmful ingredients and storage methods of his breakfast foods, emphasizing that the safety of a meal depends on the quality, preservation and preparation of the ingredients rather than where it is eaten. The case is being used to warn others that seemingly harmless breakfast choices can pose serious health risks.
