Tuyen Quang exam cheating 328 students retake exam 29 suspects

On 5 August 2026 the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced that the original graduation‑exam results from 11‑12 June for 328 students at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School would be voided after a large‑scale cheating investigation. An analysis of the 2026 exam data showed 147 perfect math scores and other irregularities across the entire test site. A joint investigation by MOET, the Ministry of Public Security, provincial People’s Committees and other agencies concluded that the violations involved teachers, administrators and parents, and led to the prosecution of 29 suspects for abusing their positions while on duty. MOET will hold a make‑up exam for all subjects on 14‑15 August, with the new results to be released on 19 August and used for university admissions. The retake is presented as a fairness measure, not a disciplinary sanction, although individual responsibility will be assessed later.
