The Ministry of Education and Training cancelled the original 2026 high‑school graduation results for 328 candidates who sat the exam at the Specialized High School in Tuyen Quang after a probe found serious irregularities. The provincial People's Committee responded by creating a provincial steering committee, chaired by Deputy Chairman Đỗ Anh Tuấn, with five vice‑chairmen from education, police, finance, health and inspection departments.

The retake will be held at the same school, using 15 examination rooms and keeping the original candidate numbers and seat assignments. It is scheduled for 13–15 August 2026: 13 August for registration and briefings, 14 August for Vietnamese language (morning) and Mathematics (afternoon), and 15 August for two elective subjects chosen from history, geography, chemistry, biology, foreign languages, economics‑law, informatics, industrial or agricultural technology. Results are to be released on 19 August, with any appeal process completed by 28 August.

The plan explicitly bars relatives of candidates, persons under investigation, or those linked to the earlier misconduct from serving in any exam‑related duties. The 328 examinees will sit for a range of subjects: 326 Vietnamese, 328 Mathematics, 140 Physics, 113 Chemistry, 38 Biology, 113 History, 37 Geography, 4 Informatics and 207 Foreign‑language papers (including English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean). The investigation into the original exam has produced 29 suspects, seven of whom are detained, among them school officials and teachers.
