Vietnam Ministry of Health launches program to prepare adults 40+ for old age
The Ministry of Health of Vietnam has drafted a proposal to equip people aged 40 and above with knowledge and skills for later life. The draft, part of the National Target Program on Health, Population and Development for 2026‑2035 (Phase I 2026‑2030), calls for the creation and distribution of educational materials covering healthy lifestyle, personal health maintenance, home‑care for the elderly, financial planning and suitable employment as people age.
The plan also calls for training health‑care and demographic staff at all levels, integrating guidance into community senior‑care clubs and cultural activities, and running media campaigns to ensure the information reaches citizens regularly. The aim is to help Vietnam adapt to a rapidly ageing population and build a healthier ageing community.
