Vietnam Ministry of Home Affairs clarifies talent attraction for valedictorians

The Ministry of Home Affairs has clarified the eligibility criteria for talent attraction policies regarding university valedictorians in Vietnam. According to Decree 179/2024/NĐ-CP, domestic university valedictorians are recognized as a specific category for talent attraction without requiring additional personal achievements, provided they meet the age requirements set by the Law on Youth.

However, the Ministry noted that being classified under this category does not guarantee automatic employment or immediate receipt of all benefits. Under the decree, heads of competent management agencies hold the authority to decide on the selection and application of these policies within their respective organizations and are responsible for the effective use of allocated funds.
