Vietnam Ministry of Home Affairs mandates reports on wages and Tet bonuses
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive to provincial and municipal Departments of Home Affairs to report on wage levels, bonuses, wage debts, and labor relations within enterprises. These reports, which must be submitted by November 25, 2026, aim to provide the state with timely data to manage labor relations and implement stability measures, particularly leading up to the Lunar New Year (Tet) in 2027.
Local authorities are tasked with coordinating with industrial zone management boards, labor unions, and relevant agencies to monitor business activities, employment, and worker livelihoods. The directive emphasizes the need to promote labor law awareness, increase inspections to handle violations, and proactively prevent labor disputes or strikes during the holiday seasons.
Data must be categorized into four enterprise groups: 100% state-owned limited liability companies, enterprises with controlling state capital, private enterprises, and foreign-invested enterprises (FDI). The reporting requirements include statistics on actual wages paid in 2026, as well as projected bonus levels for both the New Year and the 2027 Lunar New Year.
