Vietnam Ministry of Public Security issues traffic fine guidance
The Ministry of Public Security has issued guidance regarding traffic violation information on the VNeTraffic platform. Citizens are advised to proactively check for violations to ensure fines are paid within the legally mandated timeframes.
According to the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations, failure to pay fines on time can result in enforcement measures. Specifically, for every day a payment is delayed beyond the deadline, violators must pay an additional 0.05% of the total unpaid fine amount.
Standard enforcement deadlines include 10 days from the date of receiving the penalty decision, unless a longer period is specified. For those paying in installments, the process must not exceed six months and can be split into a maximum of three payments, with the first installment being at least 40% of the total fine.
