Vietnam motorcycle market sees promotions and price shifts

The Vietnamese motorcycle market is seeing divergent trends as the back-to-school season approaches. Yamaha Motor Vietnam has launched a series of promotions running from August 1 to September 30 to assist students with transportation costs.

Under this program, buyers of the Yamaha Gear 125 Hybrid and Janus models will receive 1 million VND vouchers. Additionally, purchasers of the Yamaha PG-1 model will receive a gift set including a helmet and a jacket. These models are specifically targeted at young users and students.

In contrast, the electric motorcycle segment is experiencing price fluctuations. Some dealers in Hanoi have reduced subsidies, leading to higher actual costs for certain models. The Honda icon e: has seen a price increase of approximately 5 million VND compared to the previous month, reaching about 30.04 million VND. The Honda UC3 has also seen price adjustments, with dealership prices currently sitting between 58 and 58.5 million VND, higher than the initial promotional pricing offered at launch.
