Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2026 to host 5,300 athletes in Sa Pa

The Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2026 is set to take place in Sa Pa, welcoming over 5,300 athletes from 54 different countries. As the second year of its inclusion in the World Trail Majors system, the event features various distances including 10km, 21km, 70km, 100km, and a challenging 100-mile course.

The race routes traverse bamboo forests, mountain peaks, terraced rice fields, and local ethnic minority villages. Local authorities in Sa Pa are coordinating with organizers to manage logistics, accommodation, and security for the large influx of visitors. Since its inception in 2013, the Vietnam Trail Series has raised over $570,000 for social activities, specifically supporting education projects in local villages.
