Vietnam National Assembly and Party Committees Set Legislative and Organizational Agenda for Second Half of 2026

Vietnam’s top legislative and party bodies convened in early July to outline tasks for the latter half of 2026. Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn presided over the fourth session of the Standing Committee, reviewing 24 draft laws and 10 legal orders slated for an extraordinary parliamentary session planned for early August, and emphasizing strict adherence to the Party’s 14th Congress resolutions and rapid implementation of key policies. The meeting also addressed the need for high‑quality legislation that directly resolves practical bottlenecks.

In parallel, Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, a member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, led a committee meeting of the Front and mass organisations, stressing the streamlining of party‑state structures, digital transformation, and the completion of the Front’s upcoming congress. Both gatherings highlighted a shift from routine task handling to a solution‑oriented approach, tighter discipline, and accelerated digitalisation across agencies.

The coordinated efforts aim to ensure that legislative outputs and organisational reforms support the Party’s strategic goals and improve governance for Vietnam’s economic and social development through the remainder of the year.
