Vietnam National Assembly President urges agricultural research alignment with economy

Tran Thanh Man, President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, has called for the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) to better align its scientific research and training with practical agricultural production. Speaking at a ceremony marking the university’s 70th anniversary in Hanoi, Man emphasized the need to convert research outcomes and technological advancements into tangible economic benefits for farmers and the national economy.

Man urged the institution to overhaul its training programs to produce ‘global citizens’ capable of meeting the modern demands of society and enterprises. He highlighted that the university should serve as a central hub for young professionals interested in agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship. During the event, the university was awarded the first-class Labour Order in recognition of its contributions to scientific research, community service, and socio-economic development.
