Vietnam National Assembly urges inflation control and macroeconomic stability

The National Assembly Standing Committee of Vietnam met on October 12, 2026, to review the Government's reports on 2026 socio-economic development and state budget implementation, as well as the proposed plans for 2027.

While acknowledging the Government's decisive management and the comprehensive socio-economic results achieved despite international complexities, the Committee urged the Government to focus on controlling inflation and maintaining macroeconomic stability. A key point of discussion was the feasibility of achieving double-digit economic growth targets for 2026 and 2027.

The Committee requested further clarification on several issues, including the causes of lagging labor productivity, the quality of exports, and the domestic value added. Additionally, officials were asked to address capital shortages and compliance costs for small businesses and household businesses. For the remainder of the year, the Committee emphasized ensuring the supply of electricity and fuel, accelerating public investment disbursement, and implementing national target programs.
