Vietnam national football team to play friendly tournament in November

The Vietnam national football team will participate in an international friendly tournament held at Thien Truong Stadium in Ninh Binh from November 11 to 15, 2026. Organized by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the event serves as a critical preparation phase for head coach Kim Sang-sik ahead of the 2027 Asian Cup.

Vietnam is scheduled to face Chinese Taipei on November 11, followed by a match against Kyrgyzstan on November 15. The selection of Kyrgyzstan is particularly significant as they have already qualified for the 2027 Asian Cup, providing Vietnam with an opportunity to test their tactical organization and coordination against a continental-level opponent. Chinese Taipei, conversely, did not qualify for the upcoming tournament.

The squad is expected to convene on November 9, following the completion of the first seven rounds of the V.League 2026/27 season. This period will allow the coaching staff to evaluate player form and address squad depth during the FIFA Days window.
