Vietnam National Railway Group officially established

The Vietnam Railways Corporation has officially transitioned into the Vietnam National Railway Group (VNR), a multi-sector economic group. Following approval from the Prime Minister and relevant decrees, the Hanoi Department of Finance issued the new business registration certificate.

Under the new model, VNR has expanded its scope to include 110 business lines. While railway transport, construction, and maintenance remain core activities, the group is diversifying into several sectors. These include the manufacturing of locomotives, electric vehicles, and specialized railway equipment, as well as mechanical processing and maintenance.

The group's expanded ecosystem covers technology services, telecommunications, and information technology. It also includes logistics, multimodal transport, fuel supply, and warehousing. Further diversification extends to real estate, tourism, hospitality, and even education, ranging from vocational training to university-level instruction.
