Vietnam National University Hanoi urged to lead technology development

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung has called on Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU Hanoi) to take a pioneering role in scientific research, technology development, and the commercialization of research results. Speaking at the ‘Hoa Lac New Day 2026’ program and the launch of the university’s 120-Day Breakthrough Development Plan, Dung emphasized the institution's role in addressing national challenges through innovation and high-quality human resource development.

The program included the inauguration of several facilities, such as a semiconductor chip packaging and testing laboratory, a drone (UAV) testing area, and a centralized practice center for the University of Engineering and Technology. Dung highlighted VNU Hanoi as a successful model for cooperation between the State, universities, and businesses, noting that the university has already facilitated the establishment of six start-up enterprises from its research outcomes.
