Vietnam naturalizes two football players for V. League

Two football players, formerly known as Michael Olaha and Williams Lee, have successfully completed the naturalization process to become Vietnamese citizens. Both players are currently registered with Ho Chi Minh City Police FC for the 2026-27 V. League season as domestic players.

Olaha, now known as Olaha Manh Duc, is a 1.86-meter striker who previously played for Song Lam Nghe An FC. Williams Lee, now registered as Williams Minh Hoang, is a 1.90-meter player born in 2007. During the previous season, Minh Hoang scored six goals in 17 V. League appearances and two goals in three Vietnamese National Cup matches, contributing to his club's title win.

The change in status provides Ho Chi Minh City Police FC with expanded attacking options and may strengthen the Vietnam national team. Minh Hoang could potentially be selected for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup, while Olaha Manh Duc may become eligible for the 2027 Asian Cup after completing five consecutive years of residence in Vietnam.
