Vietnam Navy rescues 33 and 30 fishermen after storm sinking and boat fire
The Vietnam Navy’s Region 4 forces rescued 33 fishermen from Quảng Ngãi who were stranded after a tornado caused their vessel to sink near the Trường Sa islands. The crew was brought safely to Cam Ranh Port in Khánh Hòa, though three fishermen remain missing.
In a separate incident, 30 fishermen from a boat that caught fire 40 nautical miles northeast of Nha Trang were rescued by coordinated efforts of the national maritime search‑and‑rescue centre, two SAR vessels and several foreign ships. One crew member suffered a minor arm injury; all survivors were transferred to Nha Trang port.
Both operations involved rapid deployment of naval assets, medical assistance for the injured, and hand‑over of rescued persons to local authorities.
