Vietnam Office Workers Face Massive AI‑Driven Job Displacement

A recent analysis warns that up to 96% of administrative, clerical and data‑handling positions in Vietnam’s office sector are vulnerable to automation, with an average risk of 86.3%. Routine tasks such as document routing, basic data entry, and standardised customer service can be replaced by AI tools, robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent chat‑bots, often achieving cost‑recovery for firms within six months.

In a related talkshow, experts highlighted the growing demand for talent in fields less prone to automation, including finance, marketing, information technology, e‑commerce and high‑tech agriculture. They urged graduates and job‑seekers to target these sectors, noting that many traditional programmes such as accounting, translation and basic journalism are seeing declining enrollment as firms shift toward digital competencies.
