Vietnam paper exports reach 1.18 billion USD in first seven months of 2026
Vietnam's paper and paper product exports reached an estimated 1.18 billion USD in the first seven months of 2026, representing a 14.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
As of June 2026, the United States remains the largest export market, accounting for 37% of the total value at 442 million USD, an 18% increase year-on-year. Cambodia holds the second-largest market share at 9%, with exports exceeding 111 million USD, a 22% increase from the previous year. Thailand ranks third, with exports of over 106 million USD, up 40% compared to 2025.
The Vietnam Paper and Pulp Association (VPPA) notes that the industry has maintained double-digit average annual growth over the last decade. Growth is largely driven by packaging and container paper, fueled by e-commerce, logistics expansion, and a consumer shift toward plastic-free packaging. Total paper production capacity in Vietnam is projected to reach approximately 10.9 million tons by 2030.
